PEI 2

So... i'm now back from my week away in PEI. All in all, an awesome trip. The drive down was extremely long and the back seat of a car is not a fun place to spend an entire day, but, the scenery on the way there was pretty awesome. On our way, we stopped off at a small motel situated on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. From our rooms we had an amazing view of the bay. Until here we had been driving for 21 hours only stopping for gas. PEI was pretty cool though. The dirt is extremely red. Theres also tonnes of potato fields. The weather for the most part was pretty good. A lot cooler than here though. 23 degrees was the warmest it got all week and the water was only 56-59 degrees all week, so its a god thing we had the wet suits. There was also tonnes of jellyfish in the water, another good reason for the wet suits, even though i did end up getting stung. While at the Basin Head beach, where the singing sands are, Chase and i got interviewed by CBC about the sands and because we were diving off of the bridge between the wharfs. I ate a lot of seafood while i was there, obviously. I actually had a lobster burger, which was good. I also had clams and muscles. They're disgusting to look at, but pretty good to eat. I was also surprised to find out that all the pop in PEI is bottled. They are also very environmentally friendly in the way of garbage. Almost all paper, non-corrugated cardboard and food all go into compost, bottles go into one recycle bin, non-compostable papers and cardboards go into another recycle bin and anything thats not recyclable or compostable goes into the waste bin, which is the smallest of the four bins. On Canada day we were in Charlottetown. A very nice city. We saw a strong man competition, some stand up comedians from the Canada Unity Tour, from which i got a t-shirt, saw some fire works, and we saw an Eagles tribute band which was phenomenal. I ended up buying a skim board, which got a lot of use in the ocean and a pretty awesome hat. On the way home we stopped at a small, mainly trench speaking, town in New Brunswick called Grand Falls. It has the second largest waterfall east of Niagara Falls. That being said, they mustn't have very many waterfalls out east, because it wasn't all that big. Also in Grand Falls we were discriminated for being English in a mainly French speaking town. While at a restaurant we recieved poor service and we spoken at with a snooty French demeanor. Other than the language discrimination, the trip was awesome. So, if you read all that, i congratulate you, because i basically just gave a long rant about my trip.

Sunday at the beach

So today i went to the beach. All in all a good day. Sun was hot, but the water was the perfect temperature for a game of water Frisbee or water football, both of which i did. Also had a good game of volleyball. If we played by regulation rules, my team would have won, but no, they thought they'd end the game early, right after our huge come back. So now i have a slight sun burn and my back and stomach gained some colour, but not much. The end of this week i'll be leaving for PEI where i'll be staying for about a week. So for that time period i won't be posting, but i will have posts for the rest of the week and probably a big post afterwards.

So now that i've posted a huge paragraph, i'll let someone else post, like that will happen (except maybe matt)
