Music Stuff, Cause I Wanna
Alright, I have officially decided to talk about music on this here blog. I downloaded (gasp) the newest album, Drum's Not Dead, by an indie band called The Liars. It is strange, but strange in the positive sense. Many of the tracks are very drum heavy, and it gives the sense of almost a tribal ritual. With falsetto singing the lead singer sings about two main characters, Drum, an assertive being, and Mt. Heart Attack, a timid creature. Yes, by the way, it's Mt. Heart Attack, not Mr. Heart Attack or anythign. See? I told it was strange. Droning guitars also are quite prevalant, which adds more to the tribal feeling. The last song is the killer though. The Other Side Of Mt. Heart Attack is a floaty, melancholy song. When I first listened to it I just kind of sat there gaping.
Anyone who enjoys an odd audio experience, you will probably enjoy this music, but be warned, I found this album gets better over time. Give it a chance, and you shall enjoy.
